The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) was held from November 15-18, 2009 in Sharm El Sheikh. Croatian Ambassador to Cairo, Mr. Dražen Margeta, represented the Republic of Croatia.
The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) was held from November 15-18, 2009 in Sharm El Sheikh, with more than 2000 participants from all over the World. Croatian Ambassador to Cairo, Mr. Dražen Margeta, represented the Republic of Croatia. H.E. Mr. Tarek Mohamed Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology chaired the IGF. Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, Egypt's First Lady lectured on the preparation of the young generations for the digital era. Mr. Sha Yukang, UN Deputy Secretary General for Economic and Social Affairs participated on behalf of the UN Secretary General. Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Ahmed Nazif participated at the opening session of the IGF.
Ambassador Margeta was talking to the participants of the IGF about the level of development of information and Internet technology in Croatia informing them, that according to the UN “e-Governance Readiness Index“ Croatia is among the first 50 countries in the World.
