The Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Dražen Margeta participated from 15-16 April 2010 in the activities of the “International Mines Awareness Day”, that was held in the Egyptian western desert in the historical town of El Alamein.

The Conference that was organized by the Egyptian Ministry of the International Cooperation and Executive Secretariat for Demining and Development of the North West Coast focused on drawing the attention to the mine problem that goes back to the World War II and prevents the economic development, despite of the richness of the area with the natural resources.
The Conference emphasized the efforts that were done in order to make it a mine-free area in the nearest future.
In his contacts during the Conference, Ambassador Margeta introduced the Croatian mine-action experience highlighting the possibilities of a bilateral cooperation in the mine action field.
