OSCE 2006 Mediterranean Seminar on the OSCE Mediterranean Partnership was held from 6th to 7th November 2006 in the Egyptian resort Sharm El Sheikh. The title of the seminar was 'From Recommendation to Implementation'.
OSCE 2006 Mediterranean Seminar on the OSCE Mediterranean Partnership was held from 6th to 7th November 2006 in the Egyptian resort Sharm El Sheikh. The title of the seminar was 'From Recommendation to Implementation'. The member and partner countries of the OSCE were generally represented by the Permanent Representatives to the OSCE in Vienna or diplomats accredited in Cairo. Republic of Croatia was represented by Daniel Ridicki, minister counselor at the Croatian embassy in Cairo.
The seminar was divided in three forums:
1. Follow-up to the 2005 OSCE Mediterranean Seminar: The economic and human dimensions of migrations. Ways to improve the mutual benefits of legal migration between countries of origin and destination; the fight against illegal migration; integration of legal migrants.
2. The role of the OSCE and its Mediterranean Partners in promoting tolerance and non-discrimination. Education on human rights and tolerance, legislation and data collection as tool for combating hate crimes and intolerance.
3. Ways and means to improve the dialogue and co-operation between Mediterranean Partners and OSCE participating states.
