Croatian National Day and Armed Forces Day central celebration 2011

The central celebration marking the twentieth anniversary of the Croatian National Day and Armed Forces Day, organized by the Croatian Embassy in Beijing, the Office of Military Attaché at the Embassy in Beijing and with the support of the Croatian MOFA Independent Service for Croats Abroad and Culture was held on 16 June, 2011, in the atrium built in the typical Chinese traditional style and art gallery Guocuiyuan National Treasure Park.

Program of festivities included the opening ceremony of two exhibitions, installations of the Croatian academic painter Mia Kirinčić and photographs taken on the journey through Croatia of Chinese artist, Rita Zhao, concert of known and award-winning women's choir Luka from Rijeka, Croatia, broadcasting films about Croatia produced by the Croatian Tourist Board and the festive banquet. More than four hundred guests attended the event, among which the Croats living in China, representatives of fifty embassies and special guest from the People's Republic of China Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms Fu Ying. The main guest from Beijing's military and diplomatic corps was General Chen Weiyang.
