Croatian House has been opened in Shenzhen on 16th of April 2013, situated in Kylin Villa, representative government residential complex where Presidents and Prime Ministers of Foreign government delegations and top Chinese officials are staying during their visit to Shenzhen. This, as project of highly importance for Croatia, was funded by the Croat of Chinese origin, President of the Center for Development and Cultural Exchange between Croatian and China, Ms. Liu Liying, which last year opened a Croatian house in Ningbo.

Croatian House has been opened in Shenzhen on 16th of April 2013, situated in Kylin Villa, representative government residential complex where Presidents and Prime Ministers of Foreign government delegations and top Chinese officials are staying during their visit to Shenzhen. This, as project of highly importance for Croatia, was funded by the Croat of Chinese origin, President of the Center for Development and Cultural Exchange between Croatian and China, Ms. Liu Liying, which last year opened a Croatian house in Ningbo.

At the opening, along with prof. dr. sc. Ante Simonić, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Mirko Vlastelica, Plenipotentiary Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission and mr. sc. Alida Valić Pešut, third secretary in charge of Economic Affairs at the Embassy in Beijing, attended by numerous representatives of the media and representatives of major businesses from all parts of China. During the three-day event, Ambassador Simonić held exceptionally observed presentation about Croatia.
Croatian houses Concept in Shenzhen consists of two parts, the area mentioned above in Kylin Villa, intended for the presentation and sale of Croatian products, mainly wine and various food products of superior quality (olive oil, prosciutto, truffles ...). Then, in an elite residential location in Shenzhen opened another Croatian house exclusively dedicated to the presentation of art works (primarily Croatian painting and sculpture).

Ms. Liu has organized a reception for Croatian delegation at the Vice Mayor of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, Mr. Zhang Wen's, with whom has been agreed Croatian presentation and exhibition of paintings for the middle of May during the Forum on Cultural Cooperation between China and the 16 CEE countries. At this meeting the need to intensify economic cooperation between Croatia and the PRC has been discussed, where the representatives of the City government of Shenzhen offered their assistance. Chinese side has launched the initiative of Sister City between Shenzhen and one of the regions or city in Croatia, also in terms of strengthening economic relations between the two countries and visiting high-level delegation, headed by Party Secretary of Shenzhen.
