Ambassador Mihelin visited Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, November 12, 2024 - The Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Mongolia, based in Beijing, Dario Mihelin met in Ulaanbaatar with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Munkhtushig Lhanaajav and the Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies under the National Security Council of Mongolia Dr. Mendee Jargalsaikhan. During his visit, Ambassador met new Head of the Delegation of the EU Ina Marčiulionyté.
 
At the meeting with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Munkhtushig, the two sides confirmed good bilateral relations between Croatia and Mongolia and the importance of their further strengthening through various aspects of cooperation, such as sustainable tourism, economy, education, etc. was emphasized. Moreover, various possibilities within EU-Mongolia cooperation were mentioned, having in mind Mongolia’s Third neighbour policy. Dynamic of bilateral relations in 2025 was discussed, as well as an array of geopolitical topics.
 
During the meeting with the Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies under the National Security Council of Mongolia Dr. Mendee and participating in a discussion with the researchers of the Institute, at the renowned “Ambassador’s Hour” format, Ambassador Mihelin spoke about the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Croatian foreign policy, possibilities for cooperation between the two countries, and exchanged views on the challenges the world is facing, given the current geopolitical situation. Director Mendee expressed strong interest in establishing cooperation with Croatian academic community and their participation at the annual Ulaanbaatar Dialogue.
