THE JOHN E. MARLOW GUITAR SERIES is presenting Croatian guitarist, ANA VIDOVIC on November 18th 2006 at 8 p.m. in the Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ on 1 Westmoreland Circle at the Intersection of Massachusetts and Western Avenues in Bethesda. Ana Vidovic is gaining a reputation as one of the pre-eminent guitarist of her generation. Ms. Vidovic has won an impressive number of prizes and international competitions. Her international career has enabled her to concretize in over 20 countries. Ms. Vidovic records for the Naxos Label. Her November 18th program will include such celebrated Spanish composers as: Fernando Sor, Federico Moreno-Torroba, and Isaac Albeniz. Also included will be the famous Paraguayan guitarist/composer, Agustin Barrios and the composer most dear to the great Andres Segovia, Manual Ponce of Mexico. A Washington debut performance of a work by the illustrious Croatian composer, Stjepan Sulek (1914-1986) will be featured. Tickets are $25. Thanks to The D'Addario Foundation for the Performing Arts, the Marlow Series is able to offer free student tickets for ages 7-17 with at least one accompanying adult (max. 2 students per adult) ticket purchase.
