NATO and partners rehearsed joint sea operations in Exercise Cooperative Best Effort 2005. This is the first time that the Croatian flag has appeared on NATO‘s web page as the photography of the week. In the military exercise [on which occasion the flag was photographed on a Croatian naval vessel], 1500 soldiers, 20 ships and four helicopters from NATO member states and Partnership for Peace member countries participated in the exercise. This same exercise took place in Croatia in 2003. Armed forces of the Republic of Croatia participated in this exercise that took place in Albania with a total of 40 members, with the landing vessel “Cetina,” de-mining divers, officers participating in the command portion of the exercise and officers maintaining contacts on ships of other member states.
