Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic took part today, 22 June 2005 in Brussels, at the invitation by the EU Council President and Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, at the International Conference on Iraq.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic took part today, 22 June 2005 in Brussels, at the invitation by the EU Council President and Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, at the International Conference on Iraq.
The Conference gathered the representatives of 85 countries and international organisations with the aim of offering support to the Iraqi authorities and the people in the continuation of the reconstruction process, and will provide assistance in political reforms, economy reconstruction and strengthening of the rule of law.
Minister Grabar-Kitarovic stressed her satisfaction with her participation at the conference that has as its purpose assisting the Iraqi people in strengthening freedom, stability and prosperity.
Minister Grabar-Kitarovic offered Croatia's experience in various fields, from defence issues to medical assistance. She expressed Croatia's interest in strengthening the economic co-operation with Iraq through the possibility of including Croatian companies in relevant projects, especially in the field of energetics and infrastructure.
Full integration of Iraq into the international community was supported, as well as the start of process of Iraqi accession to the WTO.
Minister Grabar-Kitarovic announced the opening of Croatian mission in Baghdad.
