As part of his official visit to the United States, Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic laid wreath today, February 2, on the tomb of the unknown hero at the Arlington Memorial Cemetery.
In the further program of visits, Minister Bozinovic, with the Croatian delegation, will meet Secretary of Defence of the United States Robert M. Gates in Washington. It is expected that the two defence ministers of the allied countries would discuss bilateral defence cooperation between the U.S. and Croatia, with particular reference on the Croatian contribution to the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, and on cooperation in the region especially within the U.S. - Adriatic Charter (A5).
The United States is the largest and most important partner of the Croatian Armed Forces, where only in the last two years more than 180 different activities in Croatia and the United States were conducted. The United States through its various programs financially supports Croatian Armed Forces in the field of education and training, equipping and in the field of strategic airlift of members of the Croatian Armed Forces, and in other activities of mutual interest.
