The Croatian Embassy in London organised a private view at Walker Art Gallery at which were present various European art experts and representatives of the city authorities. The exhibition was opened by the representative of the national museums in Liverpool Mr Julian Treuherz. Curator Mr Alex Kidson spoke about the exhibition and thanked Jadranka, Lady Beresford-Peirse for initiating this project as well as the Embassy for helping organise the private view. This small exhibition consists of six paintings and several photographic enlargements of portraits and galleries in the homes of the Fox and LeDoux families in which it is possible to see Bukovac''s paintings. The authors of the exhibition curator Mr Alex Kidson and Mrs Jane Sellars, curator at Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate, gave a lecture about Bukovac, his patrons and the concept of the exhibition. The next private view will take place on 20th January at Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate. Also, towards the end of March next year, an exhibition of Bukovac''s paintings will be held at Bonham''s auction house in London. This will be another incentive to examine Bukovac''s work and particularly to look for his paintings in the UK. The exhibitions in Harrogate and London will contain another nine paintings that were left to the Gallery Bukovac in Cavtat by Lady Glen, his granddaughter and which will be sent to Cavtat eventually.
