Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic’s lecture at LSE

In his speech “Croatia"s EU Membership: expectations and realities”, given to more than 300 invitees at the London Schools of Economics and Political Science, PM discussed some of the major issues of the Croatia’s domestic priorities like stabilising the economy, fostering an entrepreneurial-friendly environment, increasing the protection of human rights and accelerating the country’s learning curve. In the international arena, PM pointed that, Croatia will strive to keep NATO and EU enlargement realistic and viable, engage in international and regional cooperation and try to carve out strategic interest positions within the EU. Strengthening political relations with the United Kingdom, furthering investment opportunities and opening up the country to an even bigger influx of British guests will be the focus of Croatia-UK bilateral relations, stressed PM. Invitees’ major interest was focused on economic developments in the country, further guidance on economic and fiscal policy and education and youth employment.
