FAREWELL RECEPTION OF THE BRITISH –CROATIAN SOCIETY FOR AMBASSADOR IVAN GRDEŠIC

After almost five years in London the Croatian Ambassador Ivan Grdešic and Mrs Grdešic were bid farewell at a summer reception on 12 June organised by the British-Croatian Society. The party was held at the prestigious Athenaeum Club in London’s Pall Mall. Mr Nicholas Jarrold, The Chairman of the British-Croatian Society gave a speech about the long-term friendship between Croatia and the UK and emphasised the work done by the Society in deepening of this special bond, and thanked Ambassador Grdešic for his support. Ambassador Grdešic emphasised in his speech that during the past five years in London he and his wife were determined to open the Embassy towards the Croatian community in the UK, develop various means of cooperation and, at the same time, better to understand the life led by our diaspora. He further stressed that his contacts with members of the Society and their friends has also helped in better understanding of the Croatian community’s life in the UK. He thanked the members of the Society and their friends for attending this reception and making it another special and particularly memorable moment of his tenure at the Croatian Embassy in London.
