CROATIAN VIOLINIST BOJAN CICIC HELD A CONCERT AT ST MARTIN-IN-THE-FIELDS

Within the program of St Martin"s Embassy Series, Croatian Embassy in London organised a concert by the Croatian violinist Bojan Cicic, which took place on 18 July 2017 at St Martin-in-the-Fields. The programme of the concert included Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber"s Passacaglia in G minor for solo violin ‘The Guardian Angel’, Pavle Dešpalj "s Caprice for solo violin no 2 and Johann Sebastian Bach"s Sonata in C major BWV 1005. Bojan Cicic graduated from the Academy of Music in Zagreb, Paris and London. He has been a guest leader and soloist with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Budapest Festival Orchestra. His recording of J.S. Bach’s Concerto for two violins with Rachel Podger was recently named as best available recording by the BBC Music Magazine. Bojan"s own group, the Illyria Consort, recently made their first disc with Delphian Records, a ground-breaking recording of Carbonelli"s virtuosic violin sonatas that has been released in June 2017. Bojan was recently appointed Professor of Baroque Violin at the Royal College of Music.
