Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandrokovic met 5 October 2010, during the official visit to the Republic of Finland, with Helsinki Mayor Jussi Pajunen. Minister Jandrokovic informed his collocutor about the meetings held during his two-day official visit to Finland, the most important political topics in Croatia, and the expectations regarding the completion of the EU negotiations. Mayor Pajunen familiarized Minister Jandrokovic with the activities and organizational structure of Helsinki's administration. He also said that Helsinki was considered one of the best cities to live in according to numerous quality-of-life researches in the world's metropolises. The two also talked about the functioning and organization of city companies, the form of their ownership, and Helsinki's overall budget. Minister Jandrokovic inquired about the organization and financing of recreational and top sports, the city's cultural life, as well as ownership forms and means of financing Helsinki's sport halls and cultural life institutions. In the afternoon, Minister Jandrokovic also met with Vantaa Mayor Juhani Paajanen and Helsinki-Vantaa Airport Director Pekka Pystynen, who presented the logistical, business and housing project Aviapolis, a concept that has brought together the state and local government, as well as numerous state and privately-owned companies.
