On 20 April 2011, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia Ms. Jasna Ognjanovac presented to Uachtarán na hÉireann Mrs. Mary McAleese, a Letter of Credence by the President of the Republic of Croatia Dr. Ivo Josipovic appointing her the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to Ireland.
On 20 April 2011, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia Ms. Jasna Ognjanovac presented to Uachtarán na hÉireann Mrs. Mary McAleese, a Letter of Credence by the President of the Republic of Croatia Dr. Ivo Josipovic appointing her the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to Ireland.
On the occasion, President McAleese referred to the excellent relations between the two countries, and expressed firm support of Ireland for the speedy completion of Croatia's accession negotiations with the European Union.
The ceremony at Áras an Uachtaráin was attended by Ms. Lucinda Creighton, TD, Minister of State for European Affairs, on the part of the Government of Ireland, by Mr. Adrian O'Neill, Secretary-General to the President, and Mr. David Donoghue, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs, responsible for political affairs.
