Minister Grlić Radman attends Bled Strategic Forum: Commitment to peace, security and European future of South-Eastern Europe
Speaking on the panel “Europe Secure and Free”, Grlić Radman emphasized that freedom and security are inseparable values which Europe must actively safeguard through credible deterrence, strategic investments, and allied unity. He underlined the importance of energy resilience, economic stability, and democratic cohesion as key pillars of security, alongside strong defence capabilities and the continuation of the European Union’s enlargement policy as a strategic investment in the stability of South-Eastern Europe.
On the margins of the Forum, the minister held a series of bilateral meetings, including with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Karen Pierce, and Florian Hahn, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations, Euro-Mediterranean connectivity, support for Ukraine, the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and stability in South-Eastern Europe. Particular emphasis was placed on Bosnia and Herzegovina, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, the constitutiveness of its three peoples, and the preservation of power-sharing mechanisms established by the Dayton Agreement.
Through its participation in the Bled Strategic Forum, Croatia once again reaffirmed its strong commitment to safeguarding international peace and security, enhancing European resilience and the transatlantic partnership, and promoting the European Union’s enlargement policy as a cornerstone of stability and progress in its neighbourhood.
