Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Gordan Jandroković met with group of journalists from Germany’s most prominent print and electronic media, led by Evelyn Fischer from Berliner Presse Club

Minister Jandroković informed the journalists about the final phase of Croatia’s accession negotiations

Minister Jandroković informed the journalists about the final phase of Croatia’s accession negotiations and expressed hope that they would be concluded in the following weeks. He recalled the road Croatia had travelled in the last 20 years since gaining its independence, pointing out that during that time all of the values of the EU had been integrated.

Remarking on Croatia’s foreign-policy priorities, namely as regards NATO and the pending EU membership, Minister Jandroković emphasized Croatia’s willingness to continue assisting the rest of the region’s countries along their path to the Euro-Atlantic integration. He pointed out that only a clear European perspective could permanently stabilize the region and said that once Croatia joined the EU, it would even more strongly support the Union’s enlargement to the Southeast European countries.

The German journalists enquired in particular about Croatia’s first steps and policies after acceding to the EU, as well as the current situation in the region.
