A meeting of the Croatian and Montenegrin commissions on the return of the Jadran training ship and other outstanding issues relating to the succession of military property was held at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs on Friday, 9 October 2026.

The Croatian commission was headed by Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman, while the Montenegrin commission was headed by Defence Minister Dragan Krapović.

The Republic of Croatia maintains its position on ownership of the Jadran training ship and expects this long-standing outstanding issue, along with other issues relating to the succession of military property, to be resolved. Further consultations and consideration of the documentation presented are expected to contribute to finding a final solution in the spirit of good-neighbourly relations.

Croatia continues to strongly support Montenegro’s European path, while expecting outstanding issues to be addressed through constructive dialogue, in line with commitments undertaken and European values.
