Beijing, 14 July 2025 Ambassador Dario Mihelin received eight police officers at the Embassy, the day before their departure to Croatia this year as part of the "Croatia - Safe Tourist Destination" program, which has existed for twenty years and has been running with China since 2018. Six men and two women, from different parts of China, Tianjin, Xi'an, Shandong and Zhejiang, are leaving for a month to the already usual four destinations that Chinese tourists visit most often - Zagreb, Zadar, Plitvice Lakes National Park and Dubrovnik, and are looking forward to their new assignment and getting to know the culture and customs with great joy and interest. The Ambassador emphasized that, given the favorable security circumstances and the attractiveness of the peak tourist season, they do not have a difficult but rather an interesting job ahead of them in Croatia, and recommended that they use their free time to travel and enjoy the Croatian tourist offer and gastronomy.
Joint police patrols have improved the travel experience of Chinese tourists, among other, by bridging language barriers, and strengthened security cooperation and friendship between the two countries, which is particularly significant in the context of the renewed increase in the number of visits to Croatia by Chinese tourists.
