Europe Day Celebration in Pretoria

Under the auspices of the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of South Africa, Europe Day was officially celebrated in Pretoria on Thursday, May 7th. Once again, this year's celebration at the EU Delegation premises brought together EU Member States resident in South Africa, who presented the best of their national heritage and gastronomy at special exhibition and tasting stalls.

The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Pretoria actively participated in the program again this year, attracting numerous visitors with the recognizable flavors of Croatia. The Croatian stall offered a rich selection of traditional savory and sweet delicacies, as well as premium confectionery products, reaffirming Croatia's status as a country of exceptional gastronomic diversity.The official part of the program began at 5:30 PM with welcoming remarks from EU Delegation representatives and South African officials. The speakers highlighted the importance of cooperation, unity, and strong bilateral relations between the EU and South Africa. The official ceremony was followed by an informal gathering and a musical program that lasted late into the evening.It is worth noting that the turnout was exceptional this year as well - the event was attended by a large number of guests from the diplomatic corps, as well as the economic and public life of the Republic of South Africa. This further confirms the significance of this event in strengthening cultural and political ties. By participating in this celebration, the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Pretoria continues to successfully promote Croatian identity and culture in South Africa.
