A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Republic of Croatia and the Paying Agency for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development (APPRRR) paid a working visit to Tirana on 24-25 March.
The Croatian delegation included State Secretary Zdravko Tušek, Director of APPRRR Nikola Dolački, Assistant Director Saša Bukovac, Head of Unit Natalija Bijelić Hodžić, and Diplomatic Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Albania, Vanja Gavran.
During meetings with representatives of the Agency for Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Albania, including Deputy Minister Fatmir Guri and Director of the Agency Ardita Kuçi, the long-standing cooperation between Croatian and Albanian institutions in the field of agriculture and rural development was reaffirmed.
Discussions focused on the continuation of professional and technical support provided by the Republic of Croatia to Albanian institutions, particularly in establishing and strengthening agricultural payment systems, alongside the transfer of Croatian experience from the European Union accession process. Both sides expressed readiness to further enhance cooperation. The visit was organized in close cooperation with the Knowledge Transfer Service and in line with APPRRR’s intention to apply for the Twinning project “Establishment of a Paying Agency and IACS System in the Republic of Albania,” valued at two million euros, the launch of which is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. This would continue the long-standing cooperation with Albanian institutions and provide support to Albania in the context of negotiations under Chapter 11.
It should also be noted that the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Albania have agreed on the text of a new cooperation agreement, the signing of which is expected in the near future.
