Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman met on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, in Warsaw with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on current European and global security challenges, with particular emphasis on the continuation of comprehensive support to Ukraine and the need to further strengthen Europe’s resilience and defence capabilities. The ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to strong European and transatlantic coordination, particularly within the framework of the European Union and NATO.
Special attention was also devoted to the repatriation of Croatian and Polish nationals currently located in the Middle East. Croatia and Poland expressed their readiness to provide mutual support and coordination in assisting their citizens in crisis situations, with a focus on timely information-sharing and effective consular cooperation.
The discussion also addressed Croatia’s presidency of the Three Seas Initiative, highlighting the importance of strengthening transport, energy and digital connectivity in Central Europe. In this context, Croatia’s role in the diversification of energy routes was underscored, including LNG infrastructure and the capacities of the JANAF oil pipeline system, as a contribution to enhancing regional energy security.
The ministers further discussed the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries, stressing the importance of preserving stability and accelerating reform processes, as well as improving transport connectivity and implementing concrete projects that contribute to the development and resilience of the region. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to ensure the equality of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina as one of the three constituent peoples, and on the respect for the fundamental principles of the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement.
The meeting confirmed the close alignment of views between Croatia and Poland and their shared readiness to further deepen cooperation at both the bilateral and European levels.
