Under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, within the framework of the allocation of financial resources for approved projects of the Public Call for Proposals for Cultural Promotion, Public Diplomacy and International Recognition of the Republic of Croatia in 2025, and organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Pretoria, the guest performance of the Folklore Society "Kumpanija" from Vela Luka in South Africa was organized in the first week of the December. The klapa consisted of Jozo Burmas, Mario Prižmić, Janes Vlašić, Nikola Bačić, Cvito Markov, Teo Žuvela, Nena Marinović, Sandra Vlašić, Margita Šeparović, Gabrijela Brkić.
On Wednesday, 3 December, a meeting and a special gathering of members of the Folklore Society " Kumpanija" was organized at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Pretoria. On the same evening, at 6:00 p.m., a cultural program was held at the premises of the Croatian Catholic Mission of St. Jerome in Johannesburg, featuring a concert by the Folklore Society " Kumpanija" and the presentation of the book "Island Stories" by Vlasta Marušić.
The program began with welcome addresses by the Ambassador Ante Cicvarić and the president of the parish council of St. Jerome Church, Ivica Obadić. This was followed by a two and a half hour program that included a musical performance by the Folklore Society "FD Kumpanija" from Vela Luka and a reading of selected chapters from the book "Island Stories“ interpreted by the leading drama of the Croatian National Theatre, Ivan Plemeniti Zajc in Rijeka, Ms. Olivera Baljak, as well as a performance by Don Anton Šuljić, a priest of the Krk Diocese, poet, publicist, and chansonnier. After the cultural program, all guests gathered for a reception in the St. Jerome's Community Hall, where they enjoyed informal socializing.
On Sunday, December 07, the FD "Kumpanija" from Vela Luka, with its performance of commemorative songs, further contributed to the celebration of the 32nd anniversary of the Croatian Catholic Mission of St. Jerome and the consecration of the church of the same name in Johannesburg. The solemn mass was led by Archbishop Henryk Mieczysław Jagodziński, Apostolic Nuncio to South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, Eswatini and Botswana, together with Don Marin Dašek, head of the Croatian Catholic Mission of St. Jerome in Johannesburg, and Don Anton Šuljić.
