Both sides expressed satisfaction with the bilateral relations, which hold significant potential for continued cooperation in the fields of defence, energy, economy, and tourism. Special attention was given to the Western Balkans and, in that context, the progress of the EU enlargement process, with an emphasis on the importance of merit-based advancement and the fulfilment of established criteria, including reforms in the areas of good governance, transparency, rule of law, and human rights.

In light of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, both parties agreed on the need to continue providing comprehensive support and highlighted the importance of achieving a just peace.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on key European topics such as the Multiannual Financial Framework, migration, competitiveness, European defence, cohesion policy, agricultural policy, and the future of the EU.

In conclusion, both sides expressed interest in intensifying bilateral visits between the Republic of Croatia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the highest levels, with the aim of strengthening political cooperation between the two EU member states and NATO allies.
