On 9
th May 2025, the EU Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr. Denis Chaibi, the EU Ambassador to ASEAN, Mr. Sujiro Seam, and the EIB Head of Regional Representation for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Ms. Sunita Lukkhoo, jointly hosted a Europe Day reception at the Ayana Hotel in Jakarta.
The celebration welcomed over a thousand guests, including members of the Indonesian Presidential Cabinet and Parliament, senior government officials, representatives of the ASEAN Secretariat, diplomats from EU Member States and other countries, business leaders, civil society representatives, Erasmus alumni and media representatives.
The event was graced by the guest of honour, Mr. Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Indonesia. A number of other dignitaries were also present. A special highlight of the evening was the performance by the EU Choir, which featured staff from EU Delegations and EU Member States’ Embassies.
