On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman received Oybek Shakhavdinov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Croatia, for his inaugural visit.
During their discussion, the very good and friendly relations between Croatia and Uzbekistan were reaffirmed, and opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the fields of economy and tourism were highlighted. The intention to formalize a protocol on cooperation between the two foreign ministries and an economic cooperation agreement was also mentioned. Shakhavdinov emphasized the great potential of Uzbekistan’s market, as well as that of Central Asia, and invited Croatian companies to explore these opportunities.
Both parties expressed mutual satisfaction with the strengthening of bilateral relations, underscored by increasingly frequent high-level visits. The minister’s upcoming visit to Uzbekistan was also discussed.
A desire to enhance cultural cooperation between the two countries was expressed, especially in light of the upcoming 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Croatia and Uzbekistan.
