On Friday, October 11, 2024, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman participated in the 9th Zagreb Security Forum as the representative of Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. The forum gathered more than 200 participants from around 30 countries.
Participants at the security forum, held under the slogan "NATO and EU Cooperation—The Key to a Resilient Future", discussed critical security challenges of today, including hybrid threats, disinformation, and the security of critical infrastructure. Speaking on the extremely dangerous global changes caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East, the minister emphasized the vital importance of allied countries cooperating on security matters and defending against hybrid and terrorist threats. "Cooperation between the European Union and NATO, as fundamental organizations for defence and security, united by the same values—from democracy and the rule of law to respecting the territorial integrity of every country—is crucial for resolving global crises," Minister Grlić Radman.
He also highlighted Croatia’s strong support for Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s aggression, further demonstrated by hosting the third summit dedicated to Ukraine, held in Dubrovnik.
