Fr Ljubomir Šimunović, Head of Croatian Catholic Mission in London presented his book „Ljubav i mir“ ("Love and Peace") at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia on Friday evening. Fr Šimunović was joined by Monsignor Ante Vidović, new Deputy Head of the Apostolic Nunciature in London, Fr John Scott from Westminster Cathedral, Don Ivica Žižić, theologian and anthropologist, Mr Stjepan Lice, one of the most popular contemporary Croatian Christian writers, Mrs Ružica Lice, religion teacher and Mr Franko Cetinić, member of the Croatian Government's Committee on Croats outside the Republic of Croatia.
Guests were greeted by Mr Davor Ljubanović, Chargé d'Affaires. The church choir „Mir, pravi mir“ sang several songs.
Fr Ljubomir Šimunović is a Franciscan priest, a member of the Franciscan Province of the Most Holy Redeemer - Split. He was born in Slivno in Imotska Krajina. After ten years of pastoral duties in Croatia and one year spent in Jerusalem, Fr Šimunović came to London where he has been leading the Croatian Catholic Mission since 2007. He also started pastoral gatherings of Croatian Catholics in Ireland. He started and edits Most - The Bridge, an annual bilingual magazine that covers areas from ecclesiastical, pastoral, cultural and historical topics to contemporary events of the Croatian community gathered by the Croatian Catholic Mission in London. Fr Šimunović is the co-author of one book and the author of several professional and more popular articles.
