Minister Grlić Radman delivers lecture at Zurich University

On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman delivered a lecture titled "The Western Balkans and the European Union" at the European Institute of the University of Zurich, focusing on Bosnia and Herzegovina and the equality of its three constituent peoples. The lecture aimed to deepen discussions on European integration and the challenges facing Western Balkan countries on their path toward EU membership.
 
The event gathered representatives from the academic community, students, and experts, with whom Grlić Radman discussed EU enlargement and exchanged views on the future of Western Balkan states. In his speech, the minister particularly emphasized the importance of further EU enlargement, highlighting Bosnia and Herzegovina as a key country in the process of regional stabilization.
 
Grlić Radman also spoke about the challenges Western Balkan countries face in achieving full EU membership, stressing the importance of implementing reforms, strengthening the rule of law, and achieving political and economic stability. He reiterated that Croatia strongly supports the European perspective of all Western Balkan countries and highlighted the historical, cultural, and economic ties between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In conclusion, he stated that Croatia will continue to support Bosnia and Herzegovina in its European integration process and strengthen cooperation to achieve lasting stability in the region.
 
During his visit to Zurich, Grlić Radman also met with Croatian scientists, students, and association representatives in the Swiss Confederation, with whom he discussed strengthening ties with the homeland.
