Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Monday received the Romanian Ambassador, Mihaela Daniela Cămărășan, for her inaugural visit.
Both parties expressed satisfaction with the close and friendly relations between the two countries, which are united by similar positions on a number of current issues in international relations. Grlić Radman expressed support for Romania’s full membership in the Schengen Area and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the context of the OECD accession process. The successful cooperation in protecting national minorities also adds special value to the relations between the two countries.
The interlocutors agreed on the importance of continuing strong support for Ukraine. In light of the European Union's priorities for the upcoming institutional cycle, both countries place particular emphasis on the continuation of the EU enlargement policy towards the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership countries, as a means to expand stability and security across the European continent.
