On Friday, June 21, 2024, in Dublin, in front of the Church of St. Mary, Haddington Road, the Association of the Most Sensitive in Training (UNUO) held a culinary competition "Cupi's Spoon" for people with disabilities in cooperation with the Irish association Together Academy, the Croatian Chaplaincy in Dublin and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ireland.
Eight contestants with Down syndrome took part in the competition, competing in two categories, making cocktails and making dishes. John Patrick Clarke, Vice-president of the European Disability Forum, Mollie Regan, Associate at Together Academy and Nani Klepo, Third secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ireland participated in the jury.
The jury, with the consultation of Cupi's Spoon project managers, Vedran and Silvija Habel, announced the national winners in both categories, who were invited to the finals of the competition in Zagreb in September of this year.
The Cupi's Spoon project has been implemented for two years at the European level with the support of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia and the Holy See. This year, the project is planned to include 40 countries across Europe, and all national winners will come to Zagreb for the final competition and go on a prize trip to the Vatican, where the national flags of the contestants will be presented.
