Minister Grlić Radman attends ESF+ for Future Skills conference

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Friday attended the ESF+ for Future Skills conference, organized by the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy.

Addressing the event, Grlić Radman recalled that Croatia took over EUSAIR presidency in June, focusing on key issues such as environmental protection, women’s empowerment, energy, youth and transport.

In the context of ongoing debates on the competitiveness and resilience of European economy, the minister underscored the importance of skills for rising up to the challenges of green and digital transition as well as labour market changes.

“The European Year of Skills and other initiatives raising awareness about this issue are extremely important, as is boosting competitiveness of Croatian and European companies and creating quality jobs, in order to realize the full potential of digital and green transition in a fair and inclusive way,” he underlined.

Croatia, through cooperation among several competent ministries, has proposed introducing a new area of cooperation within EUSAIR dedicated to social issues. With this initiative, Croatia has affirmed its status as a leader and innovator within macro-regional strategies.

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs continues to participate actively in initiatives aimed at developing future skills and will continue to promote cooperation on social issues under macro-regional strategies.
