PROCESSING TIME:
The process lasts four weeks on average (the process for the first passport takes seven/eight weeks on average). Croatian legislative proscribes deadline of 30 days under condition that all other procedures are concluded. However, the processing time may be slightly extended in exceptional cases due to the technical and postal difficulties as all passports are physically produced in Croatia. Therefore, Embassy kindly asks applicants to submit their application prior to the passport expiry allowing sufficient time for all the processes to be concluded so your travel arrangements are not affected.
Upon collection of a new passport, the applicant shall submit the old passport which will be cancelled and returned to owner. Applicants must ensure they make the Embassy aware of any visas or residence permits which are not to be cancelled from the old passport.
The Embassy recommends that applicants apply for a new passport two months before the expiry of the old one or earlier.
If a person has lost his/hers passport or if it was stolen please seek advice from the Embassy at conlon@mvep.hr .
