President of the Republic Zoran Milanovic attended the state funeral of the Queen Elizabeth II in London on behalf of the Republic of Croatia. Along with president Milanovic the funeral was attended by his spouse Dr. Sc. Sanja Music Milanovic.
The state funeral was held in Westminster Abbey with two thousand guests, including a large number of world leaders and monarchs as well as members of royal families.
The United Kingdom bid farewell to its longest-serving monarch with a two-minute silence at the conclusion of the magnificent ceremony.
After the ceremony in the abbey, a solemn procession was held, and King Charles III and the royal family walked behind the Queen's coffin.
Queen Elizabeth II passed away on the 8th of September 2022 in Balmoral Castle after 70 years of reign, and was buried last night in St. George's Chapel that sits within the walls of Windsor Castle.
In the United Kingdom, a non-working day was declared so that many Britons from all over the country could follow the final farewell in London or on TV screens. It is estimated that more than 4 billion viewers worldwide watched the live broadcast.
