As part of today’s 5th meeting of the Croatia-Italy Coordinating Committee of Ministers, foreign ministers Gordan Grlić Radman and Luigi Di Maio signed an agreement on the demarcation of exclusive economic zones. The agreement defines the demarcation line of the exclusive economic zones between Croatia and Italy in line with international law.
“By defining this line, our countries will reinforce their cooperation in the Adriatic, especially in terms of protecting the maritime environment and the sustainable use of the sea and its natural resources,” Grlić Radman said, describing it as an example of good-neighbourly cooperation.
Di Maio said the signing of the agreement marked a new stage in Italy-Croatia relations, putting the focus back on the Adriatic Sea. He added that this strategic axis was additionally strengthened by the trilateral cooperation with Slovenia.
