State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Zdenko Lucić on Thursday held consultations with State Secretary at the Slovakian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Ingrid Brockova.
The two officials underscored satisfaction with the strengthening of economic cooperation and investment. They exchanged views on the humanitarian and developmental consequences of the Russian aggression against Ukraine and on the prospects of cooperating in the transfer of European integration know-how to the countries of the Western Balkans. Lucić thanked Slovakia for supporting Croatia’s OECD bid. Brockova underlined the importance and numerous advantages of OECD membership, adding that Croatia’s accession, given the country’s EU membership and preparations for joining the eurozone, could be relatively easy. She offered additional assistance in terms of transferring Slovakia’s accession experience.
During Brockova’s visit, the Slovakian Embassy and the Zagreb Faculty of Economics and Business organized a seminar called “Assisting Croatia on its Way to the OECD”, where Lucić delivered a lecture on Croatia’s OECD accession process. Apart from the students, participating in the seminar were also members of the Negotiating Group for Croatia’s OECD Accession.
