Minister Grlić Radman holds trilateral talks with Italian, Slovenian counterparts

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Monday in Lužnica Manor hosted the third trilateral meeting with the Italian and Slovenian foreign ministers, Luigi Di Maio and Anže Logar, after the talks in Trieste in 2020 and in Brdo Pri Kranju last year.

Grlić Radman thanked Italy for supporting Croatia and Slovenia’s EUMED membership, and thanked Italy and Slovenia for supporting Croatia’s bid to join the Schengen Area, eurozone and OECD.

The minister underscored that since the last trilateral meeting a lot had been done, resulting in a more substantial cooperation in environmental protection, blue economy and connectivity. “I believe that this format of cooperation has been launched at just the right time, as it enables additional exchanges of views and coordination, and stimulates new opportunities and projects,” he said.

As examples of this, Grlić Radman highlighted the North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley, Krško Nuclear Power Plant, as well as stronger cooperation in the protection of the Adriatic, search and rescue, and transport connectivity.

The three ministers signed a joint statement.
