State Secretary for Political Affairs Frano Matušić participated on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in the sixth edition of the Zagreb Security Forum, held on 3-4 September in Zagreb, which was organized by the Institute for Research of Hybrid Conflicts and the Association of St. George. This year's theme of the Forum was “Grand Strategy, Foresight and Hybrid Threats in the 21st Century - Making Society and Critical Infrastructure Resilient“.
In his introductory speech, the State Secretary emphasized the importance of holding the annual Zagreb Security Forum, which brings together experts in the fields of national and international security, and discusses current challenges for the EU and NATO. The State Secretary highlighted a number of security threats facing the EU, NATO, countries in the region and the world, and in particular emphasized the increase in hybrid activities in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The State Secretary stressed the need for solidarity and unity between the EU and NATO in order to respond to contemporary security threats and challenges.
