Minister Grlić Radman at the 16th Bled Strategic Forum

On Thursday, September 2, 2021, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman participated in the 16th Bled Strategic Forum, at a ministerial panel on the possibilities of strengthening cooperation in the northern Adriatic in the trilateral format Croatia-Italy-Slovenia.

"As neighbors and members of the European Union, we share responsibility with other coastal states for the conservation of its biodiversity, as well as for sustainable management and development. I have met with my Slovenian and Italian colleagues twice already in the last 9 months in this new trilateral format, despite all the challenges of the pandemic and I am very glad that we have created a new framework for our joint initiatives. As part of our trilateral, we have identified three areas of cooperation that we are currently focusing on: connectivity, blue economy and environmental protection. We connected the experts from our ministries as well as line ministries at various levels who have held numerous meetings and we are continuously working on various joint projects", said the Minister.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, also took part in this year's Bled Strategic Forum, in a panel of heads of governments and states on the future of Europe and the enlargement of the European Union.

On the sidelines of the Forum, Minister Grlić Radman met with Belarusian politician and activist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, with whom he discussed the situation in Belarus and the support of the Republic of Croatia along with the European Union for democratic change and respect for fundamental human rights in that country.
