Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman said on Friday that the situation in Afghanistan can potentially have a significant global impact, as he called for an end to violence in that country following the attack carried out at the airport in Kabul on Thursday.

"We are certainly not happy with this situation, which can have a major impact on the world order," said Minister Grlić Radman at the Conference of Ambassadors, Consuls General and Military Envoys of the Republic of Croatia.

Two suicide bombings carried out by the Islamic State near Kabul airport on Thursday killed at least 85 people, including 13 U.S. soldiers.

The Croatian minister expressed his condolences to the families of U.S. soldiers, but also to all those who "lost their loved ones" in those attacks.

"These attacks aimed at destruction and killing should be stopped," said Minister Grlić Radman, emphasizing that all parties in Kabul "should talk and negotiate."

He appealed to "all parties" to get actively involved in stopping the conflicts, "not to kill innocent civilians and not to create a humanitarian catastrophe aimed at a migrant exodus."

He concluded that "this is not good" and that "the situation in Afghanistan should be stabilized, along with the establishment of order, peace, security and respect for human rights."
