State Secretary for Political Affairs Frano Matušić met with Emine Dzhaparova, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine on Friday, 23 July in Opatija.
The State Secretary and First Deputy confirmed the excellent bilateral relations between the Republic of Croatia and Ukraine. They also exchanged views on a number of issues, including joint efforts on combating the pandemic caused by COVID-19, furthering cooperation in multilateral organizations, as well as strengthening economic cooperation.
The two sides touched upon EU-Ukraine relations as well, especially about the reform process in Ukraine. State Secretary Matušić expressed readiness for further support to Ukraine by sharing the Croatian experiences in European integration and other areas of common interest, especially through the Croatia-Ukraine Working Group for Cooperation.
First Deputy Dzhaparova informed State Secretary Matušić about the activities and preparation for the Crimea Platform Summit, which will be held on the 23rd of August in Kyiv. Both sides confirmed their commitment to further political, economic and humanitarian cooperation, both bilaterally and through multilateral organizations.
