On Monday, Croatia was elected a member of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the 2022-2024 period.
Croatia had previously been a member of ECOSOC from 2000-2002 (presidency in 2002) and from 2013-2015 (presidency in 2014 and 2015).
The new membership of ECOSOC is a new opportunity for Croatia’s active participation in creating new policies and trends in the economic and social area. The work of ECOSOC will be even more important in the post-pandemic period of global economic and social recovery.
Croatia’s mandate in ECOSOC begins on 1 January 2022 and ends on 31 December 2024.
