Minister Grlić Radman congratulates Statehood Day

Dear Croats, today we celebrate and proudly remember May 30, 1990 when the first democratic multi-party Croatian National Assembly was constituted which confirmed the will of the Croatian people for the creation of its own democratic, free and independent Croatian state

Dear Croats, today we celebrate and proudly remember May 30, 1990 when the first democratic multi-party Croatian National Assembly was constituted which confirmed the will of the Croatian people for the creation of its own democratic, free and independent Croatian state.

We are immensely grateful today to the first Croatian president Dr. Franjo Tuđman and his political vision and to all Croats, both in the Homeland and in the world who gave their own contribution to the realization of the dream of a sovereign Croatian state.

With special pride and gratitude today we remember all those who have laid their own lives for our freedom and in doing so we pay tribute to the Croatian defenders whose sacrifice must never be forgotten!

In 30 years of independence, Croatia has achieved exceptional foreign policy successes and is today an active and responsible member of the international community. Last year in one of the most challenging moments in our diplomatic history, successfully for the first time presided over the Council of the EU.

Croatian diplomacy will continue tirelessly, responsibly and devotedly working to strengthen the position and reputation of Croatia worldwide, the unity and determination we have shown during the struggle for independence of our only Homeland, will always be our inspiration and strength for our work.

Dear Croats, in the Homeland and beyond, dear citizens of the Republic of Croatia, dear friends of Croatia, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, I congratulate you on the Croatian Statehood Day!
