Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman on Friday visited the Croat community in the Montenegrin coastal city of Tivat and on that occasion pledged support to ethnic Croats in Montenegro.
In Tivat, Grlić Radman held talks with the head of the Croatian National Council (HNV), Zvonimir Deković, and the leader of the Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI), Adrijan Vuksanović.
Croatia will help ethnic Croats to remain in Montenegro and the bay of Boka Kotorska. Croatia will support their projects, development and efforts to preserve their linguistic identity, the minister said.
He went on to say that during his meetings with Montenegro's senior officials he was given reassurances about the status of local Croats and the exercise of their rights.
Before arriving in Tivat, the Croatian minister stopped in Kotor for talks with the new Catholic bishop, Ivan Štironja, in that coastal city.
