Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Tuesday met with the President of the Government of Vojvodina, Igor Mirović, for the handover of a donation to the quake-hit Sisak-Moslavina County.
“We are grateful for this donation that will truly help the people of this county. I am glad that I held talks with Mirović today, ahead of my visit to Subotica tomorrow for the laying of a cornerstone for the Croatia House – another proof of the Croatian Government’s care for the Croat minority in Serbia – after which, at the invitation of President of the Croatian National Council Jasna Vojnić, I will have a chance to discuss the status of our minority and the relations within the community,” Grlić Radman said.
“We came as neighbours, because this is a disaster in which we must show solidarity and join our efforts to help those affected,” Mirović underlined.
Vojvodina has helped the people of Banovina with EUR 150,000-worth of construction material and the purchase of housing units, and will renovate a public building in the region. Serbia helped earlier by donating one million euro.
