Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on official visit to China

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic is on Tuesday, 22 May, in an official visit to the People's Republic of China.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic is on Tuesday, 22 May, in an official visit to the People's Republic of China.

On Tuesday Minister Grabar-Kitarovic met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Yang Jiechi. During the meeting both parties expressed satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations. The Ministers concluded that the achieved level of bilateral relations represents a reflection of desires of the two countries to expand and deepen diverse cooperation.

Minister Grabar-Kitarovic said that she considers the continuation of high intensity of intergovernmental visits on the highest level as extremely important for advancing the total bilateral relations with an emphasis on a mutual desire for strengthening and deepening the economic cooperation. Also, in the part of the talks related to bilateral relations both parties evaluated the cooperation in the field of culture and science as very good and substantial. The Ministers agreed about holding the 3rd meeting of the mixed committee for science and technology cooperation in the second part of this year.

As for multilateral cooperation, Minister Grabar-Kitarovic said that the Republic of Croatia cooperates successfully with the People's Republic of China on the multilateral level within the framework of different international forums.

On Tuesday Minister Grabar-Kitarovic met with the Vice President of the People's Republic of China Zeng Qinghong. In their talks both parties emphasized bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields with a special overview on strengthening and intensifying economic support. They also exchanged views on current issues with regards to relations and cooperation on a multilateral basis.

Minister Grabar-Kitarovic on Tuesday also visited the Chinese association for friendship with foreign countries, where she also met with the President of the Association Chen Haosu. During the meeting both parties expressed desire to mutually contribute to further reinforcement of the relations between the two countries.

Minister Grabar-Kitarovic today gave an interview to the Dialogue programme of the Central Chinese Television (CCTV) which has guests from all over the world who are involved in international relations.
