The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, pursuant to the Article 17 Paragraph 2 of the Voter Registry Act (Official Gazette no. 19/07), calls for the previous registration of the voters voting abroad.
This concerns the voters with permanent residence in Croatia staying for a longer period of time abroad, voters with no permanent residence in Croatia who have changed their permanent residence abroad, and those who are not listed in the voter registry, so that they would be able to vote abroad.
The request for the previous registration of voters voting abroad is submitted to the diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Croatia depending on the consular area of voters’ permanent residence, no later than 14 days before the date of the elections. In the same period, voters can renounce or change the previous registration.
Previous registration requires one of the following: valid Croatian passport, valid ID card, certificate of Croatian citizenship, or decree on the admission to Croatian citizenship.
Voters with no permanent residence in Croatia who will find themselves in Croatia on the elections day need to register at the relevant Croatian body running the voter registry based on their place of residence in Croatia, but only after the elections have been scheduled.
The list of voters with permanent residence in Croatia can be found on the web site of the Central State Office for Administration www.uprava.hr, and the list of voters with no permanent residence in Croatia, as well as voters with permanent residence in Zagreb, on www.zagreb.hr.
For additional information, contact the competent diplomatic or consular office of the Republic of Croatia, the list of which can be found on www.mfa.hr.
