State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Zdenko Lucić on Friday received the inaugural visit from Azerbaijani Ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov.
Gurbanov presented Lucić with a donation of USD 500,000 on behalf of the Azerbaijani government, intended for earthquake relief in Sisak-Moslavina County. The state secretary thanked Azerbaijan for this generous donation, underscoring that it would be of great use for the reconstruction of quake-hit areas, where more than 40,000 buildings have so far been reported as damaged.
The very good bilateral relations between Croatia and Azerbaijan are also evidenced by the fact that Azerbaijan donated 34 tonnes of medical gear after the Zagreb earthquake of March 2020.
