At its 17th session of October 29th 2020, the Croatian Government adopted conclusions on the establishment of diplomatic relations with South Sudan, Somalia, Central African Republic, Tonga and Bhutan.

This rounds out the process of establishing diplomatic relations with all of the sovereign, internationally recognized countries in the world, following last week’s establishment of diplomatic relations with Burundi, Liberia, Niger and Tuvalu.

Since its international recognition, Croatia has established diplomatic relations with 194 countries. It is the first step in strengthening Croatia’s global influence and overall international position, as well as a precondition for realizing its foreign, economic and security interests, and active participation in shaping the international peace and security as a member state of the UN, EU, NATO and other international and regional organizations.
